Pakistan and the Modern World

What were circumstances which led to creation of Pakistan?
Pakistan and the Modern World is a speech made by Liaquat Ali Khan when he visited America. In his speech Liaquat Ali Khan acquainted the Americans with the facts and circumstances which led to the creation and establishment of Pakistan. He exposed different factors which forced the Muslims of the sub-continent to demand for a separate state.
In this vast sub-continent there lived a hundred millions Muslims and three hundred millions others. Mostly the Hindus who had came to this part of the world in an earlier era. The differences between Hindu and the Muslims were rooted. They are not merely religious but also social, economic and political. Religiously, Muslims were monotheist while Hindus were polytheist.

The Muslims, believed in the Prophet of Arabia and in Christ where as the Hindus worshiped many gods. Socially the Muslims believed in the equality of all men where as the Hindus believed in caste system. The communal riots between Hindus and the Muslims were a constant threat to peace in India. Similarly, the economic outlooks of both the Hindus and the Muslims were different from each other. The Muslims believed in the private ownership for every one where as the Hindus believed in the concentration of wealth. Politically the Muslims were a weak majority as compared with the Hindus. They were not only smaller in number but also more backward in education, trade and industry. Thus the demand of the Muslims to get a separate homeland was a reasonable demand on human as well as on geo-political grounds.
What were Liaquat Ali Khan Expectations from America and the western World?
Liaquat Ali Khan depicted Pakistan as a new democracy that held a key position in Asia and in the World generally. He reminded the American and the Western World of their duty enlightened role in developing and undeveloped countries of world. He explained that these backward people constituted a major part of world population.

If these people were ignored progress of the world would be rendered meaningless. He also pointed out that America and Western World could help economically to develop the natural sources of Pakistan. So that great leader pleaded and proved the case country wonderfully.
