Tolerance

E.M. Forester was an English social thinker. He was against the division of human society into various groups’ classes and nations, based on social, religious and political differences. In this essay Forester has advocated the tolerating of mind in relations between individuals, classes and nations.
He expresses his ideas with reference to the destruction caused by the Second World War. He points out that the politicians, economists and reformers are offering their own proposals for the building of European society on sound footings. But Forester thinks that peace and prosperity in the world can not be achieved through economics plants and wiser political policies.
Some people believe that selfless love is the most effective remedy of all our social and political ills. He thinks that love is a good thing in private matters and personal relations. Forester recommends tolerance as the most effective recipe for ensuring peace and happiness in the modern. It is an attitude of minds which requires us to recognise the right of other people to live and think in their own way. It enables from us be considerate to those who are different from us racially, religiously or politically. Peace and prosperity and freedom can not be maintained in the world unless we are prepared to tolerance those who are different from us in any way.
