Fight against the Sharks:
Santiago succeed in killing the big Marlin after continue struggle for forty-eight hours. He was awfully tired. Killing the Marlin was a unique achievement of the old fisher man. But his struggle was not yet over. Within an hour a Make sharks, attacked the Marlin. 
The with the sharks started at a time when his hands were sore and the muscles of his back and shoulders were aching and he was dead tired, but he was mentally ready for the attack. The old man hit the harpoon down into the shark’s head. The shark went down slowly but it head snapped about forty pounds of the Marlin’s fish. It also took the harpoon and all the rope. 
The old man thought the Manolin’s blood would attack more sharks. However he was ready to face the sharks with the remarks: that victory does not matter but it is a struggle that really accounts a man can be destroyed but not defeated. This is the most important sentence in the novel which conveys a message to mankind. After two hours two more sharks attacked. He took until the oar with the knife lashed to it. 
One shark went under the skiff and the second hit live Marlin where it had already been hit. The old man stabbed the shark to death. After a while a next shark came and hit the Marlin. The old man drove the knife down in to its brain. The shark snapped the knife. More sharks came in pack and attacked the Marlin. Now the old man fought desperately. He knew that he had lost the battle, but he prove that it is most the victory.
